Creative Arts Youth Fair Show and Sale

Open to ALL YOUTH ages 5-18

Check in 9-11am (Performing Arts Please Pre-register), Judging 12-3pm, Meal 4:30pm, Live Auction 5:30pm

All entries may sell in the “Silent Auction”

“Donations” to exhibitors may be added

Entry fees for each exhibitor to assist in costs of awards will be:

$5 for 1 entry, $10 for 3 entries, $15 for 5 entries, $20 for 7 entries, etc.

All entries will receive a blue or red ribbon with top of class receiving purple

Top winners of divisions will receive Trophies & be in the “Live Auction”

Top Winners in Performing Arts will receive Trophies & Cash Prizes.

All cash awards won will be issued as a check by mail within 4 weeks of the show

for the sale price less a 4% commission to help cover costs of show.

Our Goal is for all exhibitors to leave with a good feeling and financial incentive to continue to explore the boundaries of creativity.

Impartial judges will be provided and all decisions are final.

Divisions & Classes: These may be subdivided as to age &/or type depending on number of entries.

Performing Arts: PLEASE PRE-REGISTER for time slots by email selizabethw@sbcglobal.net or call 817-236-5623

PA system & Digital Piano provided.  All other equipment must be provided by the performer(s).

Individual or groups acts allowed.

Instrumental,  Vocal,  Skit,  Choreographed Routine, Public Speaking, Poetry Recitation, etc.

Creative Art Crafts: This Division is for crafts listed below as well as any craft an exhibitor may create that does not fit into another division.  Classes include: Ceramics, Pottery, Jewelry, Open Crafts, etc.

Culinary Arts: Suggested to enter 2 items, one to sell if want and one for judging.  Must attach recipe.  No refrigeration including filling,  frosting, glazing, pie filling, or meringue allowed. No mixes except in Tricks with a Mix. Icings may safely contain up to 6 teaspoons of uncooked milk product.

Classes: Cakes(uncut),  Pies (uncut),  Cookies/Bars (minimum 12 count),  Candy (minimum 12 count), Breads  (uncut),  Tricks with a Mix (mixes allowed, but for use other than the original intent),  Chocolate Imagination (uncut or min 12 count)

Horticulture: This is a way to be creative with a healthy plant in a creative pot. May include but not limited to:

Foliage, Flowering, Hanging Baskets,   Cacti/Succulents, Terrariums,   Water Gardens, Dish Gardens, etc.

Industrial Arts: Workmanship to be done by exhibitor. A card with explanations of steps of work done is encouraged. Suggested entries: Wood Working, Leather Crafts,   Welding, etc.

Textiles: This division includes any type of sewing with any type of thread whether by machine or by hand. Classes:

Hand Sewing (must be made entirely by hand including: crochet, knitting, lace, embroidering, crewel, latch work, smocking, bead work on fabric, stuffed animal, needlepoint, and/or hand sewn quilts)

Machine Sewing ( must be primarily made by a machine but can have hand sewn components including but not limited to quilts, embroidery on fabric, knit, pillow, place mat, napkin etc..

Apparel (can be a combination of hand & machine sewn, should be apparel for the human body, no pet clothes, could include:  shirts, blouses, pants, dresses, sweaters, formal wear, etc.

***VISUAL ARTS: Any type of surface may be used to place art on. Framing or display creativity is optional.

A title for your art piece and description of work is recommended for all entries below***

Original  Art: Paintings must be completely dry and all should be protected from handling if appropriate.

Classes: Pencil, Pen/Ink, Painting (any paint media)

Varied ArtThis class is for non-original art being pre-drawn & filled in by the exhibitor or being of preformed materials or a combination of media.  Classes: Scrap Booking (2-page layout-hanging optional), Coloring page filled in,

Paint-by- Number, Mixed media with pre-made objects or combination, etc.

Computer Generated Art: This may be enhanced  photography, or non-original art used in a design with computer program techniques to create an original art piece as determined by the exhibitor.  Classes: Enhanced Original or

Non-original Photography, Non-Original  Art with Original Computer Design ,  Combination, etc.

Film Photography: MUST PRESENT NEGATIVE at check-in. All entries must be original photography taken by the exhibitor.

A card giving title of photo, camera used, film used etc. is recommended. Classes: Color Film ,  Black & White Film,

Digital Photography: Digital may be color or black & white or sepia, etc.  Enhanced digital above.  A card giving title of photo, camera used, etc. is recommended.  All entries must be original photography by the exhibitor.

Classes: Digital (Landscape, floral, still life),   Digital (People/Animal)

Our club is located on the East Side of Eagle Mountain Lake WE ARE OPEN TO ALL YOUTH: K-12 in Public, Private or Home School from ANYWHERE in our area! EM4H has over 40 youth (Kindergarten through high school and their parents) involved from Azle, Fort Worth, Saginaw, Sansom Park, River Oaks, Lake Worth and Newark.
